Painting Party!

Zak & Nate working?? Not really sure, Zak's roller doesn't have any paint. Think he was working more on that sucker than the roller.... Nate of course is goofing off, not sure if he did do any work?
Jamey & Noah working hard in the hallway.

Simon was cutting in & getting the edges.....

Nate giving his two thumbs up to the work being done. I guess he thought he was the supervisor... it would explain why he didn't get much work done. Ha ha ha

David got the fun chore of painting the cealing! Lucky guy....

Last night our family went over to Grandma & Grandpa Prescott's house to help David & Dee Dee with the chore of painting the inside of G&G's house before they come home from their mission. As you can see we had a good time doing it! I am so thankful that my boys are big enough & nice enough to help out.... They actually wanted to help! (Imagine that!?). David & Dee Dee have taken care of everything pertaining to G&G while they were on their mission, so this was the least we could do to help them in getting their house ready for their return.

We are all taking turns helping getting the house ready - today Dee Dee & her boys as well as Brien are finishing up the painting. I think Kevin is coming tonight or tomorrow to help with any last minute painting and/or clean up. It really is a family affair! What is that old saying? The family that works together, stays together? Ha ha ha... Not sure if that's what it is, but I think that is true!! Not much longer & we will have Grandma & Grandpa back home with us. We are so excited & so proud of them.

Another Prescott Birthday

Monday Jason turned 16. We've had so much going on, and he was able to celebrate a few times for his big day. At the beginning of June, he had a "teenage party" that lasted 10 1/2 hours. Then Monday night we had a "family party" to finish it off. Jason's hoping to get his license in a few weeks now that he's 16. The only problem is that he never wants to drive, so he'll have to get lots of practice in if we're going to let him get it that soon. His theory is that he doesn't want to drive with us (mostly me) because driving with your parents is boring. I keep trying to explain to him that it's all about practice. Yesterday was the first day he drove me around for awhile. I think it gets easier with each kid, or else he just doesn't make me as nervous as Troy did. Family and "almost family" party

Teenagers! I heat the pool for 2 days and they swim for 10 minutes, and spend much more time in the jacuzzi! I ended up telling the neighbor kids to come over and swim because I didn't want to waste all that gas & electricity for nothing.

When Jason was born, the nurses just knew that we weren't going to take him home from the hospital because he screamed and screamed. He overcame his first year of health problems and has become a remarkable young man. Jason is such a great kid. It was evident at an early age that he had a strong spirit and that he will really go places. Happy birthday, Jason. You have really become a great young man that we are all proud of.

Happy Birthday Grandma (and a belated one to Grandpa too!)

Here are a couple of pictures of Grandma & Grandpa since they've been in the DC area. It shows just how different the weather is from home. It's nice to see they have fun together even without us there.

Today is Grandma's (also known as mom & Joy) birthday. Grandma & Grandpa Prescott are currently serving a mission in the Washington DC Temple, so that's why we missed Grandpa's birthday (or at least some of us, hopefully not all of us!). I know that we all want to wish Grandma a very special day today!

We are all so excited that their time to come home is drawing near.... a little over a month & they will finally be home. We are so proud of them! They certainly have shown us how to serve the Lord with all their heart, mind & strength - they are paving the way for their grandsons to follow in their footsteps. I can only hope that each grandson will go as willingly as they have & give as selflessly as they do.

We love you tons & hope that you are having a wonderful day. We look forward to many more birthday celebrations - hopefully the next few we will be able to celebrate with you here at home!!! :o) (before you head out on another mission).

Yet Another Award

It's that time of year, so my kids are getting lots of awards. Yesterday Troy was given yet another award. The golden beaker award...

In case you can't read it, it says,

"Mrs. Bowers' Chemistry Award

Troy Prescott

is recognized as being the student

most likely to blow up the lab"

Oh yeah. That's my boy.
