The Cycling Merit Badge will have to wait

Eric had his follow up appointment today for his elbow. The doctor said that there is a cracked bone, and that he'll have to be in a cast for 2 weeks. That's way better than 6 weeks, but he'll have to miss the next 25 mile bike ride on Saturday and the big 50 mile bike ride to sign off his merit badge. He's being a good sport and he was pretty tough. He's been without his hard splint since he went swimming Saturday :). He has been able to move the arm, but just can't touch the elbow at all. It is a pretty bright orange - looks like it could glow in the dark!!

i believe that nick is planning a later biking trip to finish off the badge. while i thought it was hilarious that nick and brother whats-his-face both broke themselves...it is a big ol' bummer for eric. not fair being a kid and banned from the pool!

Nick feels so bad that he is not going to be able to finish with the other boys, but he said that when they are both cast free he will help him to finish the rides. He knows how much work Eric has put into it already, and he would hate it if he wasn't able to get his merit badge. The nice thing about kids though is that they heal so much faster. They told Nick he had to wear his cast for 3 months. I hope Eric is pain free soon.

OH NO!! I guess that makes three, so there shouldn't be anymore on these bike rides, right? At least it is his left arm... poor guy. Glad it's only for 2 months. I think I can see that cast from my house!

You been tagged. If you want to play you just write on your blog six quirks about yourself and then tag some other of your friends. It's fun to read what people write about themselves.

Did you stage this picture? I can just see it..."C'mom eric, sit down at the table with a calculator and act like you're doing homework and you kow what you're doing so I can put a great picture on my blog!!"

Just kidding, I know he's a smarty! Good luck with the glowstick!
